West Ham have made contact regarding a loan deal for Juventus’ Simone Zaza, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Hammers have been dealt two serious injury blows over the course of the past week and a bit, with club-record signing Andre Ayew ruled out for four months and Andy Carroll sidelined for six weeks.

This double set-back has left Slaven Bilic short of attacking options, and reports claim that the club have reacted by opening talks about a move for Zaza.

It’s claimed that the Londoners have been in contact regarding a loan swoop with a view to a permanent transfer, with Juventus demanding a fee of €6m (£5.2m) before a final payment of €22m (£18.9m) should he make a certain number of appearances for the club.

West Ham are expected to respond to their Serie A counterparts soon, with just over a week of the transfer window available to work in.

Zaza’s father, Antonio, recently fuelled speculation that his son could be moving to the London Stadium by saying “West Ham are a solution” to his need for game time.

Southampton are also keen on the 25-year-old.
