West Ham United have decided to put all their efforts into signing Leeds United starlet Charlie Taylor to solve their dilemma at left-back, according to The Mirror.

The Hammers have been frantically trying to secure a new player in the defensive position following a serious knee injury to Aaron Cresswell that will keep him on the sidelines for a number of months.

A host of new faces have been linked with moves to east London and a number of potential deals have fallen through, including that for Davide Santon and Martin Olsson.

Although talk of a move for Olympiakos’ left-back Artur Masuaku is said to be close, the latest report suggests that Taylor remains a target for Slaven Bilic and his men.

West Ham have already landed Leeds youngster Sam Byram from the Yorkshire club and a move to ensnare another of the Championship’s prized assets could well still be on the cards.
