West Ham United have confirmed on the club’s official website that promising defender Reece Burke has penned a new four-year deal with the London outfit.

The 19-year-old centre-half is one of the Hammers’ rising stars and is being tipped to have a massively bright future in the sport as he progresses.

Highly rated by Slaven Bilic and the coaching team at the London Stadium, Burke has been on the fringes of West Ham’s first-team squad and already made his European debut.

The Newham-born starlet is an England under-20’s international and was voted as Bradford City’s Player of the Season last term on a loan deal with the Football League club.

West Ham have moved quickly to tie their young prodigious starlet down to a new long-term deal and Burke has admitted that he is delighted to commit to the club that he has supported since he was a child.

“Obviously as a West Ham fan as well as a player, it’s fantastic to be involved with the Club during this period,” he stated.

“It’s still sinking in to be honest, the move and the changes here. Over time, I really believe everything will settle in, and it will feel like home very, very soon.

“When the league season is really underway I think it will definitely feel more like home.”
