Manager Slaven Bilic has revealed Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony is an ‘option’ for West Ham.

The Hammers have been on the lookout for a guaranteed goalscorer this summer, failing in bids for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca.

Strikers Enner Valencia, Diafra Sakho and Andy Caroll produced a decent if unspectacular return of 18 Premier League goals last season – and the latter forward has now been ruled out for up to six weeks with a knee injury.

And the east Londoners’ search for a new front-man appears to have turned them towards Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony, with Bilic describing the Ivory Coast international as an ‘option’ for the Hammers.

Bilic was speaking at West Ham’s pre-match press conference ahead of their Europa League clash with Astra Giurgiu at the London Stadium tomorrow evening. The Irons drew the first leg 1-1 but boast an all-important away goal.

Bony, meanwhile, has endured 18 torrid months at the Etihad Stadium but proved his ability in the Premier League with Swansea City, netting 25 times in 54 top flight appearances for the Welsh outfit.

Here’s a look at the 27-year-old in action for the Swans:
