There has been a lot of speculation about Pedro Obiang’s West Ham future after limited chances last season at The Boleyn Ground.

Obiang was impressive when he featured, but struggled to break into the team ahead of Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate and many thought that he would be one of the players to leave the club before the start of the season.

However, it seems that Obiang has denied any rumours about him leaving with a tweet that he posted this morning:

His reply to a question translates as “I trying to earn a place here and learn football . I think this year will be very nice”.

This suggests that he wants to learn more about the Premier League and hopes for more chances in the first team, which he may get this season with more competitive games in the Europa League and less competition for places currently after Alex Song was released last month.

This is great news for the club, Obiang could have an outstanding season if given the chance and has all the attributes to boss his position at the Olympic Stadium.

The Spaniard had been linked with a move back to Italy.
