Hammers striker target Vincent Janssen is attracting the interest of Tottenham Hotspur, who have already tabled a £15 million offer for the AZ Alkmaar forward, according to the Telegraph.

With deals for Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi looking increasingly unlikely, the Hammers have now turned to other targets as they desperately seek a new striker for next season.

One of those targets is Janssen, a player keen to move to the Premier League after a superb Eredivisie campaign that saw him score 27 goals in just 34 league games.

The player is keen to push through a move to the Premier League as he looks to make the next big step in his career. He is understood to be keen on a move to Tottenham in order to link up with the talented Mauricio Pochettino.

Although the striker is keen on Tottenham, there has been little coverage of West Ham’s move for the 22-year-old Dutch international so far.

Unlike Spurs, West Ham can guarantee Janssen regular first-team football and this may change Janssen’s thinking if the Irons can better Spurs’ offer.

There is also the matter of the transfer fee. AZ Alkmaar’s advisor Billy Beane values the striker at £16.5 million but Tottenham are only willing to pay £15 million at this particular moment in time.

If the Hammers can match the Dutch club’s valuation, a fee half of what West Ham have been bidding for the likes of Batshuayi and Lacazette, they would automatically move ahead of Spurs in negotiations.

Janssen is a talented forward who already has three goals in five international appearances for the Netherlands. He may not possess the big-name stature of some of the Irons’ other targets, but for the rumoured asking price, Janssen could be a very good option for the Hammers next season.
