Dimitri Payet – 9/10
Payet has probably been the player of the tournament in the group stages.
The 89th minute winner against Romania was unbelievable. For a weaker foot strike from outside the box, it doesn’t get any better and could be one of the goals of the tournament. He also scored against Albania in the 2-0 win, whilst being man of the match in both games. He was a substitute against Switzerland but was the danger man again when he came on, hitting the crossbar with a sensational volley.
With so much talent in the France squad, Payet’s form has surprised everyone except West Ham fans. We won’t be surprised if he wins player of the tournament, but let’s hope that Real Madrid stay away and he does decide to stay at The Olympic Stadium next year.
