West Ham have completed the signing of Valencia winger Sofiane Feghouli from Valencia on a three-year deal.

The exciting attacker now joins Havard Nordtveit in West Ham’s summer recruitment list.

A player previously tracked by the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, Feghouli is certainly capable of the spectacular and he is bound to be a real hit with the Hammers fans next season if he settles well.

The 26-year-old spoke of his new team and the ambitions he has for next season in an interview with the official West Ham website:

“What surprised me last year with this team is the spirit that it has. It was a team that fought hard in every game and gave their all. There is also great quality in the squad and so I think that this season, the team can go on and achieve some great things both in the Premier League and the Europa League.”

As Feghouli is a very tricky winger with the potential to wow fans, he has drawn comparisons with fellow countryman Riyad Mahrez. When quizzed on whether he could emulate the Algerian’s brilliant impact this season, Feghouli was coy in his response:

“What he achieved last year was incredible and fully deserved as he worked hard to get to there. I have my own objectives, I am ambitious and want to achieve great things in Europe with the Hammers and to leave my mark.”

The midfielder is clearly keeping his feet firmly on the ground as he looks forward to a new season in the Premier League with West Ham.

We recently looked at why Feghouli would be a great signing for the Hammers and you can read that article here.

Let’s hope for more additions of Feghouli’s calibre over the course of the summer.
