Could it be one of these Arsenal strikers?

David Sullivan was on Sky Sports News earlier and confirmed that West Ham have bid for a player in the region of 30 million euros. He also said we’re going to be making a bid for another player this week.

Sullivan told Sky Sports: “We’ve put in a bid today for 30 million euros for a player, we’re going to make a £20-25m bid for a player later this week”

This comes after ExWHUemployee, in his The West Ham Way column, confirmed that we are putting a bid in for a sensational surprise striker from the Premier League.

This means that we have bid for a player from a different league for 30 million euros, as well as the shock target from the Premier League in the region of £20-25 million.

The fact that the striker is a shock means that players like Benteke, Bony and Ighalo (who we have been previously linked with) could potentially be ruled out of the running.

Players that could be in contention now include:

Romelu Lukaku?

Would be a shock and a great signing, but Lukaku wouldn’t be available for £20-25 million seeing as Everton bought him for more than £27 million. This would also rule out Aguero, Kane and Martial as they would be far more than £25million.

Danny Welbeck?

The English striker would be around the price quoted, and is a bit of a shock. But Welbeck isn’t really an upgrade on what we already have, plus he has spent half the season injured. The last thing Sullivan will want is another injury prone striker.

Daniel Sturridge?

Another injury prone striker, but with more quality than Danny Welbeck. However, it would definitely be surprising if he left Liverpool to join us this summer.

Wayne Rooney?

Rooney would definitely be a surprise, can’t see that happening though.

Jamie Vardy?

Leaving title winners Leicester for £25 million this summer? Doubt that one.

Olivier Giroud?

1 goal in 16 Giroud would be a shock, but can’t see him leaving Arsenal for West Ham this summer.

Who else is there?

Christian Benteke fits the bill, but Sullivan has spoken about his previous interest in the striker, and we have been constantly linked with the Belgian. It wouldn’t be as surprising as the others, but seems the most likely to be the £20-25 million man.

So is it any of these? If not, who else could it be? Leave your comments below.
