Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are considering making a move for West Ham United playmaker Dimitri Payet this summer according to The Brentwood Gazette.

The 29-year-old moved to the Hammers from Marseille last summer and has been a revelation for Slaven Bilic’s men this season.

Payet has captivated the Boleyn Ground faithful with his vision and displays of skill, with the former Lille attacker one of the key reasons for West Ham’s positive campaign to date.

The Hammers star has scored nine Premier League goals and provided eight assists so far in 2015-16, while he has also earned a recall to the France international set-up.

Payet has scored a number of memorable free-kicks also, which have added to his star appeal.

The report suggests that West Ham could struggle to hold onto their attacking talisman this summer, with both Clasico sides giving consideration to a move for the Frenchman before the 2016-17 campaign begins.
