Crystal Palace are set to swoop on Alex Song following West Ham’s decision not to make his move to the Boleyn Ground permanent, according to The Sun.

The Cameroon international is on loan at the Hammers from Barcelona for a second consecutive campaign, but Slaven Bilic has opted not to bring the midfielder to the club on a permanent basis this summer.

Song was an influential member of the West Ham team last season, but has struggled with injuries and a dip in form during 2015-16.

This has kept the African battler to just eight Premier League starts so far this term, with others such as Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate impressing in the centre of midfield instead.

The report suggests that Song does not have a future at Barcelona and will be sold this summer, with Palace seemingly set to snap up the former Arsenal man for a bargain fee.
