Manuel Lanzini has four goals and one assist in 17 league appearances this season.

West Ham are set to announce a £7.5 million deal for star midfielder Manuel Lanzini in the next 48 hours, according to reliable source Football Insider.

A deal has been in place for months but it now looks as if the club are ready to announce the capture of Lanzini on a permanent basis.

The 23-year-old initially arrived on loan from United Arab Emirates club Al Jazira. Although some will admit that they were skeptical over whether Lanzini would be a hit at Premier League level, the midfielder has duly delivered this season.

His creative touch alongside Dimitri Payet has seen West Ham’s style of football change dramatically under Slaven Bilic. As well as his ability to wow the fans, his work rate is another outstanding feature that means ‘the jewel’ can certainly rough it up if needs be.

According to the report, the Hammers were waiting to see how the player’s thigh injury played out before committing to anything long term. Now, it looks as if the club are ready to announce the deal and for just £7.5 million, it appears to be a real bargain.

The Argentinian really announced himself in a Hammers shirt with a fantastic display in West Ham’s 3-0 victory at Anfield back in August. Now that he is back to full fitness, Hammers fans may see even more individual brilliance from Lanzini before the season is up.

Is £7.5 million the right price for Manuel Lanzini?
