Savio is a great place to start. Savio joined for £9m in 2009, started one match and made a couple of substitute appearances before being sold to Fiorentina for a fraction of what we paid for him. His reputation was strengthened due to the “German Youth International”, but in reality he made 3 appearances for Germany under 20’s. Savio faked his own kidnapping a couple of years ago, and currently plays for PFC Beroe Stara Zagora in Bulgaria after spells in Romania and Kazakhstan. Our worst ever signing, made in January.
Karen Brady admitted that she was looking into the signing, as it made no sense on almost any level. But at least West Ham fans can laugh at it now.
