A lot of the hype surrounding the game will centre around Dimitri Payet and that’s rightly so considering the performance against Newcastle on Monday. However, come Saturday evening, the defence will have to be on top form to keep City out.
James Tomkins has impressed when he has been given the opportunity so far and he will have to be on top of his game alongside Winston Reid in the heart of defence.
Although Angelo Ogbonna’s injury is unfortunate, bringing in a defender like Tomkins shows how good the summer business was for the Club.
As well as the defence, West Ham will be looking to cause most of their problems on the counter. Victor Moses and Dimitri Payet were excellent on Monday and Manuel Lanzini showed with his performance against Liverpool that he is more than capable of producing the goods on the right-hand side.
A nice record for west ham would be getting away wins at the top 6 p/l clubs.
