Moussa Sow could be the forward West Ham bring in to add further quality to the attack, according to The Metro.

The free-scoring Senegalese international was rumoured to be available for around £12 million but West Ham have apparently made an offer of £8.4 million for the striker and reports in Turkey suggest that Fenerbache are considering the offer.

The 29-year-old scored 14 goals in 26 Superlig appearances last term and is a very powerful, quick footballer with excellent finishing abilities. A potential strike partnership with fellow countryman Diafra Sakho seems like a formidable strike force.

Whether West Ham have actually tabled a bid or not remains to be seen as there are not many reports in the UK suggesting that this has actually happened. Although nothing is particularly concrete yet, a player of Sow’s ability is exactly what West Ham need, especially after Enner Valencia’s injury last night.

West Ham’s pursuit of their top targets has not gone particularly well and there has been no further developments regarding Javier Hernandez and Charlie Austin. United are reluctant to sell their Mexican forward as they are short on strikers themselves and it still looks as if the Hammers will be priced out of a move for Queens Park Rangers’ England international.

Although Sow may not be first choice, he is a natural goal scorer and has that extra bit of quality that West Ham need up top. If he is for sale, he would be a top class addition to the Hammers’ strike force.

Oh, and he also enjoys the occasional scissor kick every now and then:

You can have all the strikers in world ,but if west ham don’t sign (song) they won’t get a kick of the ball this year, and the hammers will be in trouble, most of the teams around us have strengthened considerably and personally I don’t think we have done that well in the transfer market this year, Not forgetting last years star buys have to prove their selves for the second season . I think Song is class above anything else we have at the club.(forget the after xmas form every one was bad ).

And how many did Sakho score before his injury and how much did he cost?

I it’s been really strange how ever since the season ended, there’s been this obsession about us signing a quality striker while Sakho who had people raving about a second Messi seems suddenly to have become a makeweight thus requiring us to spend 15 mil.or more for a player who has about the same scoring record
