YOANN GOURCUFF (28 years old, Midfield playmaker, Lyon & France)
Tall, classy, elegant midfield player in the Brooking mould, who was tipped for the very top in his youth, which earned him a move to AC Milan. The French international of North African descent seemed to drift away after that move but then a return to French football in 2009 re-ignited his career and has since been playing some of the best football of his career. He is out of contract this summer and available on a free transfer.
