Ayew is usually deployed as a left-sided attacking midfielder. However, he has played all over the pitch for Marseille this season. He can play behind the striker or as an out-and-out forward as well as being more than capable of dropping back into midfield.
If West Ham get into the Europa League they will need further depth to the squad and having players who are adaptable will only help their cause. Andre Ayew is the perfect option in this sense due to the fact that he offers a lot of quality in a variety of positions.
