West Ham are set to make a £6 million move for Guingamp striker Claudio Beauvue this summer, according to various reports.

The striker, who can also operate as a right midfielder, has enjoyed a successful season with the Ligue 1 club so far, scoring 15 league goals in a season where he has racked up 25 goals in all competitions.

After Diafra Sakho’s success at West Ham after joining from French club Metz last summer, the Hammers may want to make a move for the Beauvue in order to provide more of an attacking threat next season. West Ham have only managed to score 43 goals in this current campaign and a number of injuries to key forwards has reduced the Hammers’ attacking threat in recent weeks.

A host of other Premier league clubs such as Everton, Tottenham and Hull City have all been tracking the striker so West Ham may have to move quickly if they want their man.

To most fans, Beauvue is not exactly a household name but he does have a lot of ability. He will add further pace and creativity to West Ham’s attack. He has recently been deployed as a striker where he has excelled, scoring a lot of headed goals despite only being 5’8.  He is a decent finisher and certainly looks like a good proposition if the price tag is as low as £6 million. This will allow West Ham to spend more money on other players in order to boost squad depth, something that could be absolutely vital if the Hammers qualify for the Europa League.
