The dust has barely settled on West Ham’s most recent transfer window dealings but that hasn’t stopped rumour mill.
Sports Direct News are reporting that Sam Allardyce is considering offering a deal to Monaco defender Ricardo Carvalho, when his contract ends in June.
The defender – who is remembered by many of us for his Chelsea days – would add some valuable experience but, at 35-years-old, can he really offer that much?
The former Real Madrid player has admitted he’d rather stay in Ligue 1 with Monaco but told L’Equipe: “The future does not depend on me, but if the club were to engage these other players will have to prove they are better than us.”
For me, this rumour just suggests silly season never ends…
