Modibo Maiga is ready to leave West Ham.
Rumours are constantly linking the Hammers with a move for various strikers – Nikica Jelavic, Rickie Lambert and Ishak Belfodil, to name but a few – and it appears the Mali international has had enough.
Maiga, speaking after the 5-0 humilation against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, said:
“I am hungry to prove though that I can play at the very top. I understand I am surplus to requirements here and I want a chance to prove I can play as a central striker and score goals.”
He continued: “The club will let me leave and I know I can make a success of wherever I go.”
The 26-year-old has made 11 Premier League starts, this season scoring one goal in the process.
