Big Sam considering swoop for Newcastle outcast

Steven TaylorIf West Ham fail to convince Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott to join them, the Telegraph are reporting that Sam Allardyce will turn his attentions to Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor.

Newcastle are apparently willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old, as Alan Pardew continues to prefer the defensive options of Fabricio Coloccini, Mike Williamson and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

Taylor, who has been at Newcastle since his youth, has only made three Premier League appearances this season.

Yet another rumour and still no substantial signings from our beloved West Ham…I’m starting to worry.

The same Steven Taylor who had his jaw broke by Carroll in a training ground fight

    what could go wrong!

  • bb says:

don’t worry they are both friends now ! of more concern to me would be the fact that taylor is a liability who feels if he fouls someone and punches his chest fans will forgive him for the stupid penalty he gives away, the poor positions he takes up and the goals he costs, there’s a reason he cant get in the team and no supporters were clamouring for him, if you need someone to rely on to help you stay up, taylors not your man, mind you allardyce will prob pay 5 million for him so iot will be a good deal for Newcastle, but he’s not what you need.

Are you mentally stupid? taylor has made one or two mistakes, who hasn’t, as for a liability? he is a very good defender! Plus no fans clamouring over him? Shows how clueless you are as he is a fan favourite! Get your facts right!

      • Simmas says:

As a Newcastle fan I can clearly say he is not a fan favourite and is most definitely a liability. He had potential which has been nowhere near reached and there is good reason he is 4th choice defender out of 4 we have. If anything he is one of the least liked Newcastle players for all his bravado and I’m one of you rubbish.

    Irons Maiden

l have been worried since we announced that we were going to be playing just 1 striker.
BFS has got it wrong, especially this season. He constantly has players out of position.
We cant even get a premier league or championship player on LOAN!!!!!
I said at the beginning of the season we were in trouble, we still are! We don’t stand a chance at the moment, relegation is looking a major possibity!!!!!

  • Tom E says:

Come on people! Get behind the team. Stop the pathetic whining. The season isn’t over and the transfer window hasn’t shut yet. There is still time to right the ship.

Certainly each game is precious, a “cup final.” With that in mind, keep the spirits up and let’s maintain the “fight like hell” mentality to avoid the drop, fans included.

  • Scott towers says:

another innacurate article, he’s an outcast yet he’s appeared in our last three games? First bit of innacurate information, second piece no managers bid for him now as he always denies them to stay at the toon, no matter how much playing time he is getting, he will never leave the toon and this article is down right stupid!

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Why Taylor. We got relegation roger rabbit Johnson. We will get more barrel scrapings cos we have fat face at the helm. Get a grip we are getting what we deserve, for putting faith in the poorest millionaires, the dildo bros and a management team that couldn’t run a bath. Stop dreaming of super duper save our season players. Face it we are now who we are and play with what we got. Shit Bolton.

  • Andy M says:

BB – Couldn’t agree more mate, total waste of time, worst centre back at the club

Scott – Do you go to the matches?

    • david no'9 roxborough says:

andy m the only half decentcentre back you have is collins and when he plays with drose it makes him poor sam longballl alladice needs the sack mate youcan’t keep say you have lots of players out . It’s just bad tactics and some poor players . Sorry mate toon army

  • Dave the happy hammer says:

Panic buying, thats what it is. If its true. Cant see the point, when our best centre backs are on the way back. no disrespect nufc but we dont want steven taylor! We want lescott :-/COYI.

  • david no'9 roxborough says:

You would be lucky to get him when he gets a run of games like when we finished 5th .He was part of a back four that went 14 games unbeaten what would you give for a backbfour that went four beaten let a lone fourteen . TOON ARMY

  • Hammer Kev says:

I’m totally fed up with it all.we don’t need stupid paper talk. We need action now.rumours are ok but it’s really winding me up. We don’t want journeymen. We can’t sack Sam wouldn’t be fair on a new manager having to work with the shite Sam brought in. I would prefer gold and Sullivan tell us straight no ones coming in. I’m worried when the change comes how the hell we gonna get rid of all this deadwood. Moving to the o/s. Who’s gonna wanna buy us knowing they can’t fully control the club or would that not matter am I missing the point. And who would want to partner g/s in such a deal.i belie we should stay at the Boleyn. Gold and Sullivan need to accept the dire situation and publically make it known there ready to sell. Only my opinion but it’s the only way were gonna get a big money man in . But thanks g/s Brady n Sam some may say you saved the club I say you only papered over the cracks. Rant over

  • D says:

Pls pls pls take him. Pure liability. But big Sam loves liabilities.

  • Squareball says:

Please give us some cash & take him away from our back 4.
It would go towards a decent back up CO.

Bon chance WHU…proper working class London club.

  • Charlietoon says:

Happy to see him go as I do think he is 4th choice and few want to be that guy.

The way he jumps around in front of the goalie whenever we have a free kick is obviously his own initiative and it makes him and us look like fools.

He gives away too many stupid fouls and free kicks and yes Willo does too but not in the same way. If Willo mucks up it’s generally in an honest fashion whereas STayls does it blatantly handballing in the box or nailing someone in the head. Stupid fouls, that cost us.

I do think he has been okay since coming back into the team…..you always hope he learns his lesson but you never know.

  • Ironsi1972 says:

Not the player we need, I would like to think that big Sam could take him and shape him, but worry about him giving away to many stupid mistakes in an already shakey defence.
Calm heads and authority is what’s needed at the back.
I like some of the 5 championship lads, who are playing regular football, and seem to be on fire.
Sam please stop looking at guys who are short on game time, as we need them to hit the ground running.
