Football statistics, some love ‘em, some hate ‘em.
Stats can be used to paint any picture you want, for example, Carlton Cole has hit a goal every 86.67 minutes, which is similar to Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
That makes Carlton sound like a world-class forward, but, when you realise that Aguero has 13 Premier League goals, Suarez has 19 and Cole only has three, you realise that stat isn’t as impressive as first thought.
