Midfielder’s West Ham career drawing to a close

Modibo Maiga Matt TaylorMost supporters were unimpressed with the team selection for the Tottenham Hotspur Capital One Cup Game at White Hart Lane, last week. Many supporters believe that the Hammers have a good opportunity of getting to Wembley, and thought that Sam Allardyce’s team selection was a major error of judgement, when he picked a number of the club’s fringe players.

However, despite going a goal down to an Emmanuel Adebayor goal, the Hammers rallied and managed to snatch a 2-1 win.  A key player in that win was midfielder, Matt Taylor, who has hardly featured for West Ham all season.  Taylor was a positive influence going forward and appeared to cover his defensive duties as well.  Many supporters, including me, thought that Taylors days were numbered due to his lack of matches.

There is no doubt that Taylor has not really reached top form since his move to the club. He has been inconsistent in his form, and we have not really seen much of the killer left foot, from which he got his reputation as a good crosser of the ball, and who weighed in with the odd wonder goal every now and then.

If only he could play like he did against Spurs, every week with shots on target, keeping possession of the ball, assists and just generally an overall good display.  Taylor did enough to persuade Sam Allardyce that he should keep his place at Old Trafford on Saturday. I believe that his inconsistency is down to his lack of games, and something which is not going to change whilst Matt Jarvis and Stewart Downing are at the club.

I think it’s fair to say that Taylor is a good Championship player, but will never again be a top Premier League performer, week in, week out, and for that reason, I do not believe we need to keep him this January if an offer were to come in.

COME ON YOU IRONS!!

here is a surprise, Nolan to start versus the gooners!!!!!!
wish he was out for the rest of the season, he is past his sell
    by date.

I think the Sunderland game proved that we are a crap team and we were even worse without Nolan and worse still with Noble as captain.

      Drop Noble and Joe Cole.

It doesn’t matter about Mat Taylor. Things are far too serious, sorry, no offense Mat. What I want to say is this:
After 55 Premier League games in charge of the Hammers, Sam Allardyce has never won back to back wins for West Ham. West Ham were the only Premier League team not to do this last season. Sam cannot even string just 2 wins together. Even Avram Grant achieved that, and also, Avram grant achieved taking Chelsea to the Champions League final. That’s a level Sam has never been at. I am not suggesting bringing Avram Grant back, but it’s looking like it’s time for Sam to go. West Ham need to break the cast that Sam has set & try & salvage something out of their season. The time for dreaming is over West Ham. Stop the bubbles bursting. Sam’s had over 2 years to get a team together & he is still getting there! If things continue as they are, then the only place West Ham are going at present is down to the Championship. Every 3 points from now on are vital. West Ham cannot afford to lose 3 points against West Brom on 28th Dec if the game against Arsenal is lost on Boxing Day. If West Ham lose against Arsenal, and especially if West Brom get a new manager before 28th Dec, then West Ham have to retaliate and change their manager to win the war of getting 3 points and countering West Brom.
The drifting is over. West Ham have to act or else they will drift right down out of the Premier League.

Trouble is Matt Taylor is not the only aged player not up to the pace and rigors of Premiership football in the squad. Massive error last transfer window, must get at least four players in this window, or I fear ‘were doomed’.

The owners also need to realise that there are things working against West Ham. I sometimes think that it isn’t a case of what is the manager doing to the club, but more of what is the club doing to the manager. I mean, so many top level managers have come to West Ham & had their careers ruined or put on hold. As we all know, that Avram Grant was a top level manager & coach before ho took the West Ham job, it’s almost as if the club has been cursed by the Masonic Bankers devil. Since John Lyle ceased being West Ham’s manager, there haven’t been many managers of West Ham that have been able to get on with their careers, with the exeptions of Harry Redknapp & Alan Pardew, and it’s only Alan that has gone on to excell at a club who are now top notch. I really liked Alan, but no, West Ham & him parted company. Alan should have stayed. Is it possible for him to return??

And we all know why Alan left !

That’s because half owners like we have now and cearns and brown who’s still here are only interested in making money. The os is a gold mine for this lot and without that they wouldn’t have even been interested in buying half our club. They are pure businessmen giving out the bullshit to gull able supporters saying they are supporters like us, never putting money into the club to make us better only the cheapest deal to spend as least as possible till they sell up inside the os and selling Upton park. Sam was after the disastrous grant given the job because his never been relegated hence now the panic from these clowns in charge realising that we could be the first for Sam. And that’s why the Brady bunch are saying if we go down its financial ruin for west ham!

    • ed says:

Your an absolute idiot.. I agree about pardew.. but avram was NOT a ‘top level manager and coach’ he is a technical director ! That’s it.. not a manager, not a coach.. he never proved himself anywhere.. not at Chelsea.. not at Portsmouth, and not at west ham. He was clueless, and was g&s worst decision they’ve ever made.. Sam is a football manager and has proved EVERYONE wrong so far.. and will continue to do that.. Sam isn’t everones cup of tea.. but there is NO COMPARISON between grant and big Sam.. you should b ashamed of that comment m8

  • razor says:

Taylor who I have never liked was just behind Collins against spurs as best player, but generally like other posters have said his now at best, like O’Neil before departed a championship player that’s average. As for transfers this time the clowns who gave allydyce the job after employing a coach that relegates teams shouldn’t give a penny to this coach until employing someone who knows what their doing in the market. Sam out now before west brom and please mirror stop saying Nolan coming back is good news and start supporting the vast majority wanting allydyce out.

  • the swindon hammer says:

like carlton cole diarra Nolan and demel championship player tries hard but simply does not have the quality and we all know what happens when you play championship players week in week out that’s where you end up!
