Peterborough United have revealed that they have rejected a bid from West Ham for their young striker Jaanai Gordon.
The trialist was with the Hammers for a few weeks and did extremely well, scoring and grabbing assists in his short spell with the club.
Director of football at Peterborough, Barry Fry, had this to say: “Jaanai has been excellent for West Ham in the last two weeks in training and in friendly games.”
“The staff there believe he has enormous potential. A bid was made yesterday but we have rejected it.”
* Diego Forlan has apparently attracted the attention of West Ham, with the 34 year old a potential target for the club come January.
The Uruguayan has scored 21 goals in 42 games for Brazilian club Internacional, and Sam Allardyce is reportedly looking to attract him in the club in the transfer window.
Ah, West Ham. Where strikers go to die.
* Carlton Cole has attracted media attention due to his remarks on twitter to a fan about their Mum. Twitter user Ricky Brown said: ‘As useless as he is @CarltonCole1 needs to start tomorrow, cannot stand playing with no striker no more’
In response, the striker quipped: ‘as useless as your mum was in bed last night.’
And although the media have reported this as a negative, the reply caused Ricky to completely change his opinion, saying: ‘You are now my favourite fully fit striker above Maiga.’
Ah strikers, if only we played with them these days…

The best way to avoid the same mistakes we made this window (and others to be fair) and end up signing another duffer up front……sign nobody ! That way we cant complain we’ve wasted our money on another wrong’un. Roll on next season in the Championship. Must admit I’m starting to join the Get Rid of Big Sam brigade – ok, so the West Ham Way was not what Sam wanted to play – not sure I’m enjoying the Big Sam Way !!!!!
Big big mistake signing another donkey for an insane amount of money. Should have resigned tevez and had a whole lot of change to buy carrots for the rest of the donkeys.
Firstly get Sam out second job employ bilic or Matteo or some unknown who teaches football and can buy top strikers who can play in a system that Sam says doesn’t get us anywhere. Well Sam your old fashion ideas have got us into relegation trouble so pack your bags and go to your real Madrid job or England that you think your capable of coaching! Defoe as one striker and ba as a loan looks good with a new coach asp.
Not forlan please. Why not waste some more money, on someone who won’t play.
