Time running out for Big Sam?

Sam AllardyceThe last five games have been a disaster. Something is very wrong at Upton Park, it’s not only the fact we have no striker. It’s that attitude, the body language if all the players and officials. The game against Chelsea was one of the worst I had ever seen, the players looked like they had already lost the game before they went out onto the field.
Now normally people blame the manager and sack him. This sometimes works and other times fails. QPR will tell you all about how it dosen’t work, and Southampton will tell you it does. But the question is do we remove Sam Allardyce for someone else? And if we do who do we replace him with?

My Father-in-law supports Sunderland, last year he thought Paolo Di Canio was some sort of god, now he hates him. Di Canio was a brilliant player and my favourite player at West Ham, however his work at Sunderland has made me question his managerial ability.

Roberto Di Matteo is a definite yes, however the fact he is getting £180,000 a week to watch TV makes it unlikely, as does the fact that he would want a Champions League club to manage.

Guus Hiddink is another option, a proven performer, who has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world, I rate him as a manager.

However I like Sam, and I think he has done a lot of good for the team, but everyone has their used by date and his could be coming. The next four games will determine his fate, so I for one will wait and see how we go before saying if we should sack him. Sacking a manager is incredibly costly and that money could be used for another striker in January. With our two best players injured (Andy Carroll and Winston Reid) now comes a massive test for the club and how what we can do.

Just as Big Sam is coaching for his career, players are playing for their futures and now is the time to step-up. The next four games, three of the teams are below us. This is the perfect time to hit some good form, however judging from the game against Chelsea were a long way off. If we do not pick up at least six points from the next four games I would say that the club would have to give Sam his marching orders.

Big Sam has never been in a team that has gone down. At the start of the season he would have not imagined Andy Carroll would have taken this long to recover from injury, he would have also expected Modibo Maiga to hit the ground running, should their be any problems with Carroll.

Love him or hate him, he has got us promotion back to the Premier League, signed Ravel Morrison for peanuts, lead us to a 10th place finish last year and isn’t in the relegation zone now.

The worse thing we can do is not give him a few games to sort the squad out and hopefully get some points. Many people are questioning Sam’s ability as a manager and we will have a answer before Christmas.

It must be said that while Sam might shoulder some of the blame, the players also have a bit to answer for. While I will not go and name players, there is an all round general feel of defeat emerging in the players’ body language. This is the first thing I would look to change if I was Big Sam, give them some confidence and that might go a long way.

Big Sam is skating on thin ice. If he was our defensive coach only he’d be ok. He hasn’t a clue on how to open up a team or attack them. He keeps playing the wingers on the wrong wing so they have to come inside instead of getting to the line and crossing or pilling it back. It’s not difficult is it his not very intelligent or can’t he do the obvious when trying to score.
How can he continue to play no forwards? We’ve got not bad players ( there’s worse out there) but he has to understand when at home you have to attack the opposition otherwise they will attack us. Bring in Bilic quickly before it’s too late !!!!

I agreed with most of what you are saying Shane but I was here Saturday and what big Sam did on The 40 minute subing collision & Cole screamed of desperation it made us look bad and probably made jack & Joey feel bad to, he needs to change the formation and use the two strikers we’ve got, and as for the 19 million pound striker that hasn’t kick a ball yet this season in sorry but that is BAD MANAGEMENT.

Agree it was a bad move. I think he understands that now. He will only get out of this by winning games. Andy’s injury was ment to be fine by now and we thought we had some good cover. At the end of the day he has a few games to sort it out. Let’s hope he does so we can get as far away from the zone as possible

I completely agree. Im a massive fan and still am now. You dont get anywhere with quick decisions. I repeat never been relegated. He will keep us up whether it is pretty or not. I will not go home or away if we sack him anytime soon. He has transformed this club. When he came in we were a mess FACT. He built promotion team with alot of players leaving etc. He got us up amd built a squad to keep us up and getting us 10th. With the squad we have now ill take anywhere from 1st to 17th. Every year the premier league improves. We need to get through to january out of the bottom 3 and build with more strikers. Then you will see big sam come into his own BIG SAM I TRUST COYI

Fed up with people bleating on about bfs has never been relegated, got us up (just) got us to 10th last year. We’ll let me tell you that will all mean jack shit if we go down. Stop living in the past this is now were in deep trouble playing with non football and getting worse with a man who has no idea how to change. I certainly won’t gloat that our only real success has been against the spuds. We need points desperately past glories won’t wash in the championship. Hoof ball is not the west ham way we’ve tried it, got us out of a bad situation now it’s obsolete just like bfs. Surely all the other managers in the prem who play football can’t be wrong (I discount Pullis in that argument ) best line of defence is attack not sit on the edge of your area and hope for the best. The club is bigger than bfs if he can’t hack it ship him out before it’s too late. I won’t lose any sleep over him when he’s gone.

BFS is so up himself he’s deaf blind, who else would start Nolan EVERY game and now his pet up front ffs !. I think he has lost the dressing room as well. FOR GOD SAKE GET RID ASAP !

You point out that Alladyce signed Morrison for peanuts. What about all the bad signings he has made, and let’s not forget that while you are putting some of the blame on the players, which I agree with but these are the players he signed. While he has never been relegated with any club he certainly sending us in that direction, so if he get sacked and another manager comes in and we still get relegated his record will still be intact. He has his favourites who he keeps in the team however badly they play, { I think you all know who they are} he signs old players and don’t seem to give our young players a chance, even in our present predicament. I think we will be relegated, then we will be playing in a half empty OS in the Championship, {there certainly won’t be 54,000 thereto watch them.

We are all going for Sam’s jugular but if you all remember the negotiations with the OLC ended up costing us more money. Sam wanted a second striker but one could not be secured by Mr Sullivan. Lets hope we get the points we need from the next three games, and Mr Sullivan delivers the quality players we need in January.
If a new manager is needed Slaven Billic gets my vote.

What forward worth his salt would want to play for bfs. If they did they would have come in the summer. As for all this crap about 20 odd forwards on the Radar for January sounds like someone up top feeding us bulls***.
