The men who helped Ravel Morrison

Ravel MorrisonAdrian Durham of talkSPORT fired a rare bit of praise West Ham’s way on Thursday. He was talking about Ravel Morrison’s call-up to England’s Under 21’s and how West Ham deserve a huge amount of credit for this call-up.

The chance of Ravel Morrison having the discipline to complete a senior season without getting into some sort of trouble was certainly unlikely after he was released by Manchester United.

However Sam Allardyce had faith in his own regime and snapped up the talented midfielder.

He was then shipped off to Birmingham City on a season long loan after he appeared to be the same Ravel of Manchester United. This is where I feel Adrian missed a bit of praise, because Birmingham took him on and could have caused unrest in the squad during their own Championship campaign. Ravel had a friend in Nathan Redmond in the Birmingham squad already and perhaps why he was happy to join the Blues.

From that loan spell he returned to West Ham and has been appeared to be a completely different person. Usually a loanee is a completely different player but more than his ability improved during this loan spell.

Then came pre season and he managed to notch 6 goals and had the West Ham fans licking their lips at the prospect. Big Sam again showed faith and he has quickly gone from appearing off the bench to making consecutive Premier League appearances.

We will all be keeping an eye on the Under 21s more so than before and I’m sure he will impress again and again. We must not forget that praise must go to Big Sam, Lee Clark and Kevin Nolan who seems to have successfully taken another troublesome youngster under his wing.

As a United fan, this boy was talked about as the next big thing at Old Trafford for many years. He is an undoubted talent and history tells us there is no better club to be at for talented youngsters than West Ham.

I agree giggyjon. I heard he was possibly going to be the next big thing from Man United. Glad he’s turned it around with the help of the above people. Thanks for your comment!

Should play in Nolan position. He will hopefully be one of the best midfielders in England.

The way things are going he could very easily be one of the best midfielders in England before seasons end.
