Potential January transfer business for West Ham

Demba BaAnother solid away performance at Swansea City gained the Hammers another valuable point on the road, but what do West Ham United need in the January transfer window to turn these types of results into victories?

A draw at the Liberty Stadium is a great result and another clean sheet is very satisfying. However, Sam Allardyce will be drawing up a transfer list to push on up the table after failing to complete his business in the summer window.

Andy Carroll’s absence has been a huge blow for the club and a striker that can put the ball in the net has to be the main priority in January.

I would like to see West Ham resign Demba Ba, no one can predict how many games Carroll will play this season, and I believe that Big Sam should plan for the worst and hope for the best in regards to Carroll’s fitness and sign a quality striker, not a Wellington Paulista or Marouane Chamakh!

Chelsea’s Demba Ba would fit the bill perfectly. He can hold the ball up comfortably and is a handful for defenders plus he scores plenty of goals.

Jermain Defoe would be another great signing that would bring bags of goals. However, a return is unlikely because of the relationship between the Spurs forward and the fans! I don’t think many Irons fans would welcome Defoe back to Upton Park.

A possible deal that could happen is Wilfried Zaha, David Moyes has admitted that the 15 million pound man could be loaned out in January. With this pace and trickery he would be a great addition to the squad and could play in either system.

He would be able to play as the furthest forward in the counter attacking 4-6-0 formation or on the wing if we decided to play a striker. I would really like to see Zaha play week in week out and this would help aid his development.

The third area I would like to see strengthened is centre back, although the defence has been fantastic this season a fourth centre back would make the squad stronger. Maybe a loan deal would be best but hopefully not someone like Emanuel Pogatetz!

If we made 3 signings of that quality it would represent very good business. Nevertheless we can only pray for better than last January’s activity.

What do West Ham need in the January transfer window? Ba? Defoe maybe? Zaha? Another centre back?

A centre forward is a must, how can a club like ours be in this mess, shopping in the bargain basement for a forward, AC is a class act, and will be money well spent, but we always needed another forward. we are looking to push on from last year, and the way we are going you cannot expect that. suds was a good result m-city was a wake up, and again Swansea if we had a forward we could have won, and that’s not the first game this season. come on Davids dig deep, if you can spend 7million on downing, do it on CF in Jan.

A striker is a must..Can’t see how this could happen. Firstly where is the finance going to be coming from.So its probably going to have to be loan deals.Demba Ba could be a possibility but again financing this could be a problem. Defoe shouldn’t happen and Zaha wont. With Carrolls return an uncertainty Vaz Te injured and both Maiga and Cole not premiership quality It maybe time to play some of the young bloods.

I would be more worried about who’s going the other way.
Diame is fed up by all accounts and angling for a move away, and also if as reported the Arse pile in for Reid we won’t see him for dust.
Tomkins is also angling for 1st team football, and Pardew is trying to get him.

If we lose a couple who don’t have the heart for a relegation battle, getting anyone to come in for a relegation battle will not happen. As we know in the past you overpay and get desperate in January and very rarely get any good players.

Lighten up. We need a striker. We needed one last Summer too. Not sure it’ll happen though

Oh dear here we go again with all the doom and gloom I recon that we will get a decent CF like Demba Bar. I also recon that we will have players who will want to play for now that the move to the Olympic Stadium is on and only 18 months away. We will need to plan and buy or loan good players and not players that are not willing to give there all for our club. Come on you IRONS

depends on funds but a striker is a must afox in the box type ie Jordan Rhodes or Jermaine defoe yes I know he walked out on us but a few goals and us fickle fans would soon change our tunes also I like to see another right back coming in
