A welcome transfer target for West Ham

|

Salomon KalouThere has recently been a lot of speculation linking West Ham with Salomon Kalou, who currently plays for Lille in the Ligue 1. Kalou scored 14 goals in 28 games for Lille last season, which is pretty impressive. He was always a good player at Chelsea and that’s what we need, someone with Premier League experience and of course a good player.

Kalou can play as a striker and a winger and this is exactly what West Ham need and David Gold and David Sullivan have both expressed this. Of course, West Ham’s main striker will be Andy Carroll but we need someone who may have to fill in if Carroll is injured and Kalou is capable of doing that. Admittedly he is not West Ham’s usual type of striker, a big man who can win a lot of aerial duals, but he can do a good job.

As mentioned earlier, Kalou can also play right wing, which will be very beneficial for West Ham. It is an area where West Ham weren’t very strong last season and Kalou could strengthen the right hand. If West Ham were to Kalou, he would mainly play down the right because Carroll is our main man up top. Kalou can score goals as well, which is always beneficial.

If Kalou was too chip in a few goals from the right hand side, then who knows where West Ham could end up next season. One thing I do like about Kalou is that he knows where the goal is. There was a number of occasions last season where West Ham created good chances but couldn’t finish them off. However, Kalou could change this.

He also has pace, which is something else that we lacked last season. Having the pace of Kalou and Jarvis up the wings sounds very promising and it would allow West Ham to break forward much quicker and possibly score more goals. West Ham are a side who try to play against teams on the break but we don’t have the pace to do this.

Overall, Kalou would be a great signing for West Ham and I really hope we attempt to sign him. He will be very cheap but will bring a bag load of Premier League experience to West Ham. I mean, he’s won a Premier League title.

You can’t have watched us play a lot last season with that comment being thrown in. Sounds like you’re paying too much attention to the media who choose to ignore the 75% of the game when we play on the floor and choose to highlight the few times we go direct due to there not being any other option.

We should forget kalou and remy and try to buy Matej Vydra. Hes younger than the other two and will be a much better scoring partner for carroll because he spent the last season with a tall target man and scored 22 goals for watford and has already scored 2 goals internationaly.

    Steve Clarke WBA Wants Kalou
They have worked together as well @ Chelsea looks like we’re gonna lose out there !

If the rumours that he is available for around 2.5 mil are true, I’m amazed we aren’t throwing everything at signing him. He’s fast scores goals, fills a problem area on the right but could well stand in for Carroll while he spends half of each season in the treatment room. I’m desperate for this one to come off.

Remy would add a few goals if we get him qpr have just done a deal for hooper from Celtic . I’d like to get Parker back and add Sinclair on loan with the option to buy . If we can offload vaz te and Taylor then maybe vydra we could afford

stop ponsing about sullivan go and get vydra asap and remy and lets get the show on the road.

  • Jack says:

Get kalou not remy as he might go down for rape and would mean a loss of ££££

Kalou would be a great signining! At 2 1/2 mil would be a right steal! Only thing is does he want to come? If he does then go for it and get vydra as well! That would then open up no end of striking options! If this pair are half as good as they are supposed to be then when they stand in for Carroll while he is injured, Andy will have a job getting his place in the side!! As for remy you can keep the gang raping bastard!

I was impressed with Kalou at Chelsea & I feel he could be a good addition if he has not lost any of his speed and trickery. He could be a good foil for the slower and largely airiely talented Carrol and also provide more speed and thrust as well as more variety to the largely airiel game that Allardyce puts so much faith in. Kalou would increase the ground passing game in attack and midfield, which the Hammers very obviously need to improve in.
In releasing Carlton Cole and Robert Hall West Ham also need cover for Carrol who is an injury prone player & is one whom I have my doubts about. Originally massively over-priced, he is a risk at his still-inflated lower price to us. Besides Kalou, we need to bring in or on somebody who can backup Carrol and even push him for slection – I doubt that Kalou would be an effective central striker largely because he is not noted for his airiel prowess. Carrol alone is not enough for this central role, and with nobody obviously ready to step up
I feel that we need to buy Remy or someone more likely to do the job, either alongside or instead of the rather brittle and bruised Andy Carrol.
