Alvaro NegredoWest Ham have had a €17 million bid rejected for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo, the Spanish club’s President has confirmed.

This season Negredo scored 25 goals in 37 appearances for Sevilla, including four at the weekend in a 4-3 victory over Valencia.

Negredo has a very impressive 63 goals in 95 La Liga games and has been a reported target for Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, in the past.

I don’t know about you, but I’m surprised (but extremely pleased) to hear the Hammers have made a bid for the Spanish international. With the Andy Carroll deal nearing completion, we all assumed that would mean the majority of West Ham’s transfer budget would have been spent but that may not be the case.

Maybe the Andy Carrol deal is not a done deal as reported ?

  • Ro says:

maybe it was a case of getting one of the two but not both. I don’t think realistically we would be buying both. But i can still see around 5-10mil available even after the AC deal if it finally goes through.

This was back in January so I am guessing that we were not set on Big Andy back then due to injuries. Also, just because someone at his club advised we made an offer of 17m doesn’t mean I believe it. Maybe it ups his value amongst potential suitors??

Hmmmm, maybe the rumours flying around about AC haggling over wages are true and we are actually lookiong elsewhere. If we are willing to pay this then what about targetting Rhodes

I think west ham are looking at alternatives to Andy Carrol because I am not sure he wants to join west ham because they have been linked to players like Bony as well.

  • Hammer says:

  • geoff says:

maybe trying to hurry up carroll by putting in bids for other players?

If it’s true give credit to the owners for trying to get better players In than what we have and making a statement that we want to push on from last season but I’m still worried about the Andy carroll deal

Still too early to comment on anything wait for concrete info rather than getting excited about the rumors

Pity we can’t pick up a michu like Swansea did.I don’t think AC will be joining as he never said he wanted to in the interview after Reading game.

  • Hammer says:

I’ve told u watch sky news big things happening at westham 100% 40 million to spend new investor happy days

  • Stunaldo says:

Andy Carroll is on holiday, that’s why he hasn’t signed yet, when he returns he will, the owners seem to be serious about pushing on, good times are on the way!

I definitely think we should be looking at strikers like negrado ,andy carroll worries me, last year he was playing for his football life, and when fit very effective he was .it´s seems pretty obvious according to reports that W.HAM are not his first choice, what really worries me is that he has a history of sulking& going off the rails a bit,if he does end up at W.HAM and he gets a nice contract I would not want to see a repeat of the IILUNGA saga.

  • lee jolly says:

I knew we wouldn’t get him, far too cheap {the offer we put in} he’d be worth at least 25 million, seeing as he smashed in 25 goals last season.

  • Dave says:

A bid that was never ever gonna be accepted and they knew it.
