Exciting Transfers Ahead For West Ham

Romelu LukakuIn the wake of potentially securing the signing of Andy Carroll, Co-chairman David Sullivan stated in a newspaper interview that the club aim to bring in Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku in an attempt to make a potentially dangerous attack in Lukaku and Carroll.

This news really excited me as Lukaku has shown, on-loan at West Brom, that he has all the attributes to become a Premier League great, and although our potential move could just be a loan, it would be brilliant to have someone of Lukaku’s class up top alongside Andy Carroll. However, despite this news coming from one of the best insiders at our club, it must be concluded that Sullivan could be launching such speculation in an audacious attempt to bring in more season-ticket revenue, as has been suggested by many following his statements in the Sun when he said the club were meeting with a top class striker.

We are showing great ambition going for players such as Razvan Rat, Andy Carroll and now Romelu Lukaku, and all of these players are just three amongst many more that could don the beautiful claret and blue come next season. Do we pull of such signings, I feel we will be a club in contention for Europa League football – captain Kevin Nolan also feels the same.

For me, Lukaku joining West Ham is very unlikely but I am an optimist and hope for the best in such circumstances. I hope I’m not the only one in thinking that with the way our transfer deals are currently going, we could soon become a big team in England, pushing for Europa league spots.

if there’s one thing that i learnt from last summer, was that with twitter, facebook etc there’s a LOT of speculation going on and some of that is completely bogus. Coupled with David Sullivan’s tactic of machine gunning out offers to everyone on a long list of interesting targets.. i fear our hopes will be dashed in many cases, that relief will be breathed in just as many, and that we will never really work out what’s going on until signings actually happen (apart from the obvious ones).

You could not have put it better Legends, I will be surprised if we end up with any real big signings. As for signing Lukaku does Sully not know that Sam does not know how to play with two strikers.

Just think if we did get Romelu Lukaku on loan for the season and he scores more than this season, how much would that make him worth compared to Carroll? also I don’t know if Sam would know what to do with someone talented like Lukaku?

lukaku come to west ham??? hahahahahaha this would never ever happen in a million years. now the world knows how good he is do people really think hes going to go to another club playing for no trophies and not even in europa??? it really is a dream

Typical Sullivan tactic to try and sell season tickets.

We heard the same b******t about potential signings year after year when at Birmingham City.

People are getting ahead of themselves. We have had an offer accepted for Carroll, but he hasn’t agreed to sign yet. If it comes off, that will be a huge portion of our budget gone. Its would be an ambitious signing, but who else wants him? With Torres rumoured to be leaving , Chelsea may want to keep hold of Lukaku. If he goes out on loan, it will be to West Brom again. Lets not kid ourselves, are we as good a team as Spurs, Liverpool, Newcastle or Everton? Would any of our players get in their teams? Considering Carroll would be our second Liverpool outcast, I would have to say we are years off a Europa cup spot. We finished 10TH because the likes of Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland had shocking seasons

Yes Jamal, I think the author of the article is way ahead of himself, but hold on there boy. You really think Newcastle are so much better than us? Are you a magpie in disguise?

However the reality is that we’ve had a blinding season. The second season back can often be harder than the first, and in august last year most of us wouldn’t have been unhappy to finish 17th, let alone 10th. I doubt we will see the majority of the names we are linked with, sign on the dotted line, but I am pleased with the guvnor’s ambition and with Big Sam I’m confident we can have another year of consolidation and small improvements. 10th again would suit me fine for now, as we grow into the team we can expect to be in a few years. Just lovin’ the stability to be honest. It’s been too long.

Everyone said last year that we was not gona get Carroll on loan now it looks like we could be getting him . If we don’t get lukaku then Wilfred bony will do and I think scott Sinclair on the right is a good option . Jonjo shelvy would be a very good player and the right age and a centre back will do nicely

Flamineo, I agree with most of what you are saying. I think we can agree that Newcastle had a bad season, after finishing 5th the season before, I think the only player they have lost since then is Ba. I can assure you I am not a magpie in disguise, I dislike the fact they have so few English players, but the likes of Tiote, Cabye and Ben Arfa I think would fit into most teams easily. I do appreciate the stability, and I do not think we have underachieved this season, but when people talk about Europa cup, they need to think, over club have been established at the top end of the table for years. If qualifying was so easy, why haven’t they done it yet? 10th place is more than enough for me for now, and I can’t see us doing any better too soon.
