A Few Transfer Suggestions For West Ham

Chris SollyAs we approach the first of July, the preparations to sign players for the new season are well underway. West Ham United have already made their first signing, which comes into effect on July 1st, in Razvan Rat. Although, this is my wish list for moves that we could possibly make. I feel that strengthening needs to be made in two distinct areas. Attacking and in defence. Sam Allardyce said after the game with Manchester City; ‘The only way we can get better is by signing better players.’ This is a proposal that we must try and implement.

A player that I would like to see the club move for would be Kevin Gameiro. If you, like myself, have been intently following the French Ligue 1 this year, or in previous years, you may have been impressed by Gameiro. Having moved to PSG from Lorient last summer, the Frenchman was one of the hottest properties in the league and was touted with moves to Arsenal and also appeared for France in the European Championships. Kevin Gameiro has found it tough this year, competing with talents such as Ibrahimovic and Lavezzi leading the line. Gameiro could make a suitable signing for the club as he may be persuaded to more permanent football in England.

However, this signing would be only needed if the club were unsuccessful in their pursuit of Andy Carroll. Andy is becoming a certainty for the club to try and bring in this summer. His performances last season only reflect this. Powerful, skillful, but most of all classy. At times, the class that Carroll has is obvious. His first touch is magnificent and the endeavor he shows motivates the entire side. With attempts to make the signing of Andy Carroll permanent becoming public, it seems that the club will pull all strings necessary to bring Andy Carroll to West Ham United. For West Ham United to progress, continuity in our strengths must be kept, as well as being able to build. Only from the strong foundations that we have left from this season, can we push to the new levels that we desire. Andy Carroll would be that foundation laid down for the future.

Defensively, Rat seems a very good and capable signing. Experience and willingness to play in the Premier League show the high amount of quality that he possesses. Nevertheless, Rat shouldn’t be the last signing that the club makes in defence. The club probably needs another centre back and another full back. In terms of a centre back because, even though James Collins, Winston Reid and at times James Tomkins have been reliable, competition needs to be added to the squad. I would like to see the club move for Everton defender, John Heitinga. The Dutch centre back has been linked with a move away from Everton because he has been stifled of first team opportunities. West Ham United could make a promising signing in bringing in the World Cup finalist.

For a full back, there are a few options that the club could entertain. The free agent, Danny Simpson is one. Simpson fell out with the Newcastle hierarchy, despite their attempts to keep him. West Ham would do well to bring Simpson into the club. Also, Chris Solly would be a very good and solid signing for West Ham United. Solly has now been Charlton Athletic’s player of the year for the last two years running. From watching Solly, it is hardly surprising to see why he has won these accolades. He works hard, and offers support in defence. Solly would be signing that would get better year by year.

Would love to see us sign Darren bent or hooper to partner Carroll I think they would be a great little and large partnership with bent playing on the shoulder

  • wjo1974 says:

Personally I would like to see us Raid QPR for Julio Cesar and Loic Remy. Both are quality, wont cost as much as they should do with QPR being relegated and they don’t have to up root after only just arriving in London. All things work out and they can’t demand ridiculous wages they would have been on at QPR. Carrol and Remy up front would be lethal but can’t see Sam changing from his lone striker. (cant complain though)
    My side would be
    Demel, Reid, Tomkins, Rat
    Cole, Diame, Jarvis
    Carrol, Remy

Bench of Jussi, Noble, Potts, Morrison, Collison, Collins, Maiga

Just my thoughts actually change daily on our best 11 and formation.

  • Garry says:

I would like remy or lukaku on loan I’d also like scot Sinclair to replace vazte and add to the middle with jonjo shelvey . I don’t think a keeper is must this season but a world class centre back would be a big Sam has said he wants 5 new signings would be enough

  • Phil the iron says:

Got to say Cesar is a great shout! But remy? Not in a million years! Just can’t have a rapist anywhere near the club! I like Sinclair and think he would def be a positive upgrade on Vaz ta! As for shelvey? Just don’t see it! Not a West Ham player for me! Plus he is nowhere near as good as the players we already have, certainly no better than o’neil or Taylor. So not much point then! Lakaku, now that would be good business!lol. I would lo love to see Diarra stay as he is pure class nd just the holding midfield/ball playing centre half we have been crying out for and just the type of player we need to take the club to the next level. COYI!

  • Andy says:

I would like us to go and get a few players but i would love this as the team

    GK kasper schmeichel
    RB Richards
    CB ginger
    CB Reid
    LB rat

    RM Sinclair
    cm noble
    cm diane
    lm Jarvis

    cam Nolan

    st Carroll

bench Shelvey J.cole Demel maiga lukaku and couple others

  • Garry says:

I can’t see Richards but I think we need to bring through Potts and ravell Morrison for sure this year . We need them to push on this year and challenge for regular first team football. I personly think Europe is possible if we sign the right players

  • Mr Jones says:

Heitinga and Simpson are pants defo a step down from Tomkins, Reid, Collins, Demel and O’Brien.

  • Roy says:

I think the transfers will fall in to place if we get Carroll. If we do not then it could be difficult for us. COYI

  • jay says:

i would like to see this team

  • trevor says:

    Julio Caesar..NO! remy…NO!!…
wouldn’t touch anything from QPR!! it shows last season there a bunch or mercenary’s.
kasper schmeichal and scott Sinclair are a great shout, aswell as giving Morrison and potts a run in the team. I still think we need look to phase out Kevin Nolan, he went missing for a hell of a lot of games last season and im afraid his legs are gone.
Also maiga should get a run in the team as a second striker along side carrol, hes not been given a fair chance in the team and was often played out of position to accommodate kevin Nolan
    My team
    collinson or sinclar

bench: jussi, Nolan, noble, Morrison, potts, benteke …… yeah right lol

  • lee jolly says:

I wouldn’t mind seeing green come back seeing as he was a solid keeper for us. Would also like to resign carlos tevez, and forget andy carroll seems too much of a risk injury wise. I am glad we have finally signed a decent left back in razvan rat he’s quality. below would be my team to start the new premier league season…

    LB RAT

We should sign someone experienced to provide competition for Tomkins, Winston Reid, Ginger at centre back but overall I think we did ok last season defensively.

    RW Joe Cole? {Depending on fitness}
    CM: Mohammed Diame
    CM/DM Jonjo Shelvey
    LW: Matt Jarvis

Sign: Jonjo Shelvey Someone who can provide competition for collision, noble, and someone experienced and excellent at passing

    CF Andy Carroll
    CF Carlos Tevez

Think we should look at signing Kevin Gamiero & Tevez and make sure we sign carroll definitely & Get Rid Of The Rest…

As long as we had this team, I’d say we could finish 5th easily
