West Ham’s Paolo Di Canio ‘Circus’

|

With Paolo Di Canio resigning as manager of Swindon Town, the circus remains whether he could be on his way to West Ham. The fact that new contract talks have not started with Sam Allardyce, his contract runs out at the end of the season and a large number of West Ham fans have started calling for Di Canio to be instated as manager is only adding to the rumours.

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

On his resignation Di Canio insisted it was due to “a number of broken promises” including the sale of Matt Richie, but with the Swindon Town take over all but complete, Swindon fans are no doubt wondering why Di Canio couldn’t have held out until the take over was complete. Was it the rumours linking Di Canio to West Ham too much of a draw for him and he wanted to be ready when West Ham were?

Paolo Di Canio certainly belongs in the heart of all West Ham fans, however, is this a step too far for Di Canio at the moment? Having guided Swindon Town to promotion up to League One in his first season as manager is a excellent achievement (even if Swindon Town were favourites and he had money readily available for transfers). He certainly has the passion as a manager to succeed at West Ham, he gets the players behind him and he most certainly isn’t scared to tell them exactly what he thinks good or bad. But he is volatile and can sometimes be a loose cannon which is not so good because the one thing West Ham would need should Sam Allardyce leave or not get offered another contract, is a manager with a level head and someone who can bring consistency to West Ham.

My personal view on the matter is that Sam Allardyce has done a good job with West Ham. Yes he hasn’t set the world alight but he has made us a tougher team. I think we should stop the talk of a new manager until the end of the season, there is no good in changing our manager at this stage in the Premier League. We need to get behind Sam and the West Ham squad and show our support, granted at time it can be hard to do so, but that is more beneficial than adding more pressure to Sam Allardyce by calling on a new manger is it not? I feel Sam Allardyce is the right man for the moment, but do I feel he is the right man for the future? Maybe not. What I mean by this is that Sam Allardyce is the man to steady our ship but not to push us on for European glory. I know some fans are going to talk about recent results and how poor they have been and they are right, results of late have been extremely poor, but is this because of our early season success? I think so. We have hit our poor run now where as the likes of Reading and Southampton hit their poor run early on in the season.

I have no doubt that Paolo Di Canio will one day be the West Ham manager and I honestly can’t wait for that day. I just feel Di Canio needs experience at a higher level than what his current management and that will only improve Di Canio and benefit West Ham in the long run.

Let’s stop the Di Canio circus for the moment and do what we need to do and get behind Sam Allardyce so we can push on in the League this season and come the summer lets talk more about a new manager if Sam Allardyce’s contract still isn’t sorted.

I will end on Di Canio to West Ham – yes please just not at the moment

Some supporters automatically think that being a great player transmits to being a great manager…. those supporters remain on the misty eyed naive side of the fence with the social network being an integral part of many peoples lives with all the ITK sources.

As much as I like Di Canio and look back on some of his great moments for the club, I am realistic enough to realise that Paolo may NEVER make it as a top manager…..Why?
Because he hasn’t got the temperament for it and that my friends separates the great from the not so great!

Big Sam has only been here two years and our lot are a forgetful bunch who think that they are ENTITLED to being at the top of the Premier League.
Well we’re NOT entitled to it………… it has to be earn’t!
Some supporters need to cast their minds back to “before” Gold and Sullivan took over and before Big Sam came to this club and where we were. We were in financial meltdown and possibly heading out of business. No one wanted to touch this club with a barge pole as we were in financial deep #@%?!
Be grateful that we are 11th in the Premiership Big Sam dropped down to bring us up in “ONE SEASON!”
This happens to be the second season, where are we meant to be?
I expect this drivel from chelski, manure and gooners…but West Ham? We’re meant to have a good commonsense understanding of the basics!

I have not heard so much rubbish for years – Di Canio – manager of West Ham – no way.
Don’t get me wrong when he played for us he gave us everything but that dosen’t mean he will be a good West Ham manager.
Sam Allardyce has kept all his promises since he has joined – I don’t we will ever make Chamption League but who cares just as long as we cane keep in the Premier League and keep our best player.
As I am about it I want to thank the two chairman for everything they have done because without them none of this would be possible.
