Youth or experience?

|

On Saturday West Ham welcome Manchester United to Upton Park in our FA Cup 3rd round tie. So should the Hammers give youth a chance or go with experience?

Are you on Facebook? Excellent, so are we http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

I would like to see us field a side full of youth and fringe players instead of playing all our regular starters.

I think we should focus on making sure that we don’t get sucked into a relegation scrap. The last thing we would want is one of our best players getting injured and not even overcoming the Red Devils in the process.

I know many fans, including me would love a cup run- but we have to get our priorities right. If we were sitting in 7th-9th with no threat of being sucked into a relegation scrap I would have loved an assault on the trophy. But were not, so I think making sure that we don’t get dragged down the wrong end of the table is a priority.

By playing our youngsters such as Elliot Lee, Seb Lletget and the recently recalled Danny Potts would get more needed experience and that can only be positive and in turn this means we could just focus on the league.

If we do manage to cause an upset though (remember Di Canio vs Barthez) we may as well throw everything we’ve got at the FA Cup as the 4th round isn’t until the weekend of the 26th January, plenty of time to get very close to the magic 40 points mark.

Ever dreamt about getting paid for reading about West Ham? Well now you can make dreams a reality http://bit.ly/ffc-foreverwestham-lp

We’ve got nothing to lose as were under dogs so let’s just see what happens.
