Time for him to start proving himself?

|

“Ignore the stuff in the paper about me, it’s NOT one bit true. They must have better stuff to tell everyone than lie about me all the time.”

These were the words of West Ham United’s Ravel Morrison on Twitter following newspaper reports that Birmingham City FC were trying to cancel his season-long loan spell after it was claimed that his “attitude in training and around the club has been unacceptable”.

However the on-loan teenager has the claimed stories are untrue telling his Twitter followers “I’m having a good time at BCFC so before anyone wants to ask me is it’s true, no it’s NOT.” And asking “Why do papers chat so much s**t?

Question marks were raised that Lee Clark had “run out of patience” with the midfielder and that was the reason he has not been included in a first team squad since the opening day of the season.

Ravel joined West Ham in January having been let go by Manchester United after Alex Ferguson reportedly lost his patience with the player. However despite much hype he went to make just one substitute appearance for West Ham and rumours subsequently circulated of bust ups with both club captain Kevin Nolan and assistant manager Neil McDonald.

These instances wouldn’t be the first time Morrison had courted controversy. In early 2011, he received a 12-month referral order and was ordered to pay £1,445 in costs and compensation after admitting two counts of witness intimidation. In that instance the court heard that Morrison subjected the victim of a mugging to threatening phone calls telling the victim “you don’t know what I’m capable of”.

Unfortunately as it looks as though his off the pitch antics have overshadowed his footballing career yet again. We are yet to know whether the young midfielder is able of maturing into the player that was much lauded at Old Trafford. Let’s just hope he shows us what he capable of on the football pitch sometime soon.

Ditch the loser, he’s got an attitude and if he wasn’t a footballer he’d be in prison!

A few of our less knowledgeable supporters were kicking off when it became known that we were sending him out on loan. The truth is (and I said it at the time) he was only ever a punt, as there are and have been hundreds of players of equal and better ability as him over the years that never made it in the game because they have nil discipline…. sad but true! It’s all about attitude and if we let him go tomorrow I can guarantee that he WONT come back to haunt us as he’s had his 15 minutes and he isn’t worth the bother. He will be trouble on and off the pitch a ticking time bomb for any manager to deal with!

Its a shame for him as if he could change his attitude then he could go far.

Remember seeing him in the youth cup a few years back and he looked a talent.

    Could be a decent player.

Good player – hope he sorts himself out quick sharp blud.
