West Ham United chief David Gold has confirmed that the club’s four prominent loan players have returned to their respective parent clubs, with the Hammers looking for more quality in the transfer market this summer.

Carl Jenkinson, Victor Moses, Emmanuel Emenike and Alex Song have all spent time with Slaven Bilic’s men, but will not be offered permanent deals as the London outfit’s squad evolves this summer.

This means that the quartet will return to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Fenerbahce and Barcelona.

Gold has stated that replacing these outgoing players is a priority – but that West Ham want improved options this summer.

“What we have to ensure now is that we keep that momentum going when we move to the new stadium, and that means we will be bringing in some new players to replace the four loan players who have left us – Carl Jenkinson, Victor Moses, Emmanuel Emenike and Alex Song,” he told the club’s official website.

“Our intention is to replace them with better quality.”

Song was initially a hit with the Hammers in 2014-15, but struggled for form and fitness last season, while it was a similar story with Jenkinson.

Moses started life at West Ham well but fell down Bilic’s pecking order, while Emenike was a short-term option that did not work out.
