Sensible decision over Noble?

|

West Ham United’s very own fans favourite Mark Noble could be forced to wait to sign on the dotted line of a freshly written new contract to stay at the club he supported as a boy.

Noble 25, who joined the club as a schoolboy is entering the last year of his contract, and with the arrivals of Mohamed Diame and youngster Ravel Morrison, West Ham’s number 16 could face competition for his place in the Hammers midfield.

Being an academy product and a Hammers idol, I’ve even seen him described as inspirational in some tabloids this morning, Noble will want to secure a new contract as quickly as possible and I’m sure if the owners and manager didn’t tie him down they would face uproar from angry fans, although I do suspect the article run in this morning’s Daily Star is nothing more than agent talk.

As much as I love Nobles effort and passion, his past experiences in the Premier League have hardly set the world alight, although he did excel himself last season, Noble will have to prove himself this year to earn the right to sign a new contract.

And it does frustrate me, how every West Ham fan lets Noble get away with errors in a game, stray passes or mistimed lunges in dangerous areas just because he is “a West Ham boy”. Yes, if football loyalty was an award Noble would win it in the West Ham side, the longest current serving player in Claret and Blue and West Ham through and through, but why should that mean it should be a god given right that he should get a contract. Every player should earn the right to get a renewal.

An insider at West Ham told the Daily Star the latest on Nobles contract situation he said; “The signing of Mohamed Diame from Wigan is going to increase the competition in midfield. Let’s see how Noble reacts to that. That will be pivotal in whether he gets a new deal or not.”

So in my view, I believe that the owners should tie him down as at this moment in time baring maybe Cole, he is one of the only experienced West Ham through and through players right now at the club and to lose that passion would be a mistake. Not only that but his quality on the ball as well as his penalties mean he is a valuable player at the club. But it is pleasing to see the owners and Big Sam being sensible and seeing if he can handle the competition and pressure of playing in the Premier League.

Come on You Irons!

Why bother posting such a poorly written article? You say Noble ‘will have to prove himself’ and then say he is resposible for ‘stray passes and mistimed lunges’, before concluding he has no ‘god given right’ to a new contract. These conclusions are all rubbish but then you go on to recomend that despite all of your concerns the owners ‘should tie him down at this moment’. What a waste of everybodies time who was drawn to reading this article.

I feel sorry for you if you believe the stupid spin your being fed by the club! one minute we are told that Big Sam likes Sam Baldock then he is being offered to other clubs! now we have the case with Noble, when this kicked off at the weekend the comment from Mr Gold on twitter was “Mark Noble will be with is for the foreseeable future” well that says a lot, how long is a piece of string?

The problem is with Big Sam and I felt this from the start is he will not be happy until he has all his own style of players at the club, is their a written guarantee Diame will be good? – but managers come and go, Big Sam will leave when it is to his advantage or the David’s kick him out! and what will we be left with.

We are THE ACADEMY Mark Noble is part of that it is no time since Sam was praising him, The Club comes first not a manager! Get Mark Noble signed up!

Mr Gold also said he was sure that Rob Green would be staying with us and look what happened there…..

I’m sure Noble will be offered a contract extension. Perhaps the delay is for both parties to understand what kind of contract it should be.

It’s true on the one hand that when we were relegated, Noble/Parker + didn’t hold things together well enough. I personally believe these 2 defended too deep and Noble in particular was guilty of making daft errors in dangerous positions. OK, he’s young! But he still has to prove himself in the Prem. In fact, in the Championship last year he was guilty of playing sideways and backwards very well, but not passing forward to open defences up. And on the critical level, every player should be able to listen to feedback about their performances. It should drive them to make them better players. And fans should be able to debate freely amongst ourselves. Debate leads to improved knowledge, better informed opinions for all etc. I welcome these articles.

Noble is a west ham lad. He wears his heart on his sleeve and has many qualities and still has potential to realise. I’m sure he wants to play for England as he did in the U21s. If he finds himself on the bench this season, who knows how highly BS rates him, then Noble could find himself in a difficult position when it comes to signing a contract. It could be measly? But if he plays and plays well, then I’m sure he’ll be looking for a generous contract offer.

.. I think all parties are just waiting to see what happens.

i lke the fact that noble is a west ham boy through and through, but i still dont know his strengths in the centre, he doesnt score unless its from the spot, his passing is ok but not remarkable and his tackling is questionable at times, i think gold and sullivan are doing the right thing in testing him it may make him a better player.

badly written article by a format scribbler which comes down to – Mark Noble, is he premiership?

integral to hugely succcessful youth set ups both at club and international levels, experienced, talented and committed. he’s clearly learned from playing with parker and will benefit from a strong and competitive midfield.

sign him up now and roll on the season

I have been a life long Hammers Fan and Im unsure if Noble will cut the grade but he should be given the chance to prove himself – this is without doubt the strogest leauge I have even known in almost 40 yrs of watching football – If west Ham make the top 10 they will have had a great season !

  • Greenman says:

What a joke, Mark is the heart beat of our team. It looked like last year Big Sam was gonna try and move him on, but Mark won him over. Sign him up!

  • Al says:

If it’s about earning your contract well Noble did that last season.

  • Hammersaw64 says:

Noble will be with us long after Allardyce & Diame are gone, & still giving his all.

  • Ian says:

Sorry for me he looks the part but lacks the ability to perform at the highest level, most of the midfield players have at least the same level of vision and passing skills but offer more in terms of goals from open play including getting from one box to another and he is definately NOT a holding player. I think he will struggle to hold a regular place and being with West Ham all his life doesant really add any value to any of it, i cant see Sir Alex or Mancini shaking in their boots “Oh look its Mark Noble hes a loyal player” !!! I hope im wrong.

Mark Noble is West Ham, nuf said

  • Brooksy says:

The fact that you are basing this article on what was written in the daily stsr says it all, last season Noble improved in the tackling department 100% as before he couldnt time tackles for shit. A season in the championshp has done him the world of good i say.

  • ????? says:

Mark noble is the best player ever!!!!.
