The summer clearout has begun early

Ruud Boffin has had his contract with West Ham terminated just a few months before it was due to expire.

The reserve shot stopper had only made 3 appearances for West Ham during his stay with the club, including 2 cup fixtures which resulted in Hammers losses.

The club tweeted: ‘West Ham United can confirm that Ruud Boffin has had his contract cancelled and has left the club by mutual consent with immediate effect.’

Boffin’s time with the Irons expired soon after we signed Henderson on loan, showing that he’s definitely number 2 after Green now.

You can’t say Boffin made much impact at the club, but it can be tough for a keeper to get a chance when the No. 1 is on top form. And with the addition of Henderson, another highly rated keeper, it looks like he had no choice but to try and make an impact elsewhere.

If all else fails, at least we’ve got Lansbury until the end of the season!
