FIVE things Sam Allardyce could do to get the West Ham fans back on board

|

Stop calling us deluded and say we’re talking b*llocks!! – Well, let’s face it. If we’re getting told we’re deluded we’re not gonna be your biggest fan, Mr. Allardyce! I think Big Sam definitely does need to think about how he addresses the fans in the media – many will have been negative about his appointment anyway with his style of football not being one that West Ham fans perceive to be the ‘right’ way. As Allardyce has started praising fans in recent interviews, it does look like this is starting to change but it feels as if this is a forced change for damage limitation rather than one of choice!

2. Stop changing a winning team – The performance against Barnsley showed exactly what we can do when we put our minds to it. The team played the ball across the floor, and all the players linked well to thrash them 4-0. So then, why change that team to the one which started against Birmingham? It doesn’t make a lot of a sense to me, and sure enough we went in at half-time 3-1 down. Yes, we put on a stellar performance to come back to get a point, but you can’t help thinking that we may have got a win with the added confidence of Big Sam using the same team that played so well against Barnsley.

3. Get Robert Green and even Julien Faubert to sign new contracts – Green’s contract ends at the end of this season, and I for one would absolutely love the shot stopper to remain in a West Ham shirt. Faubert’s is also up this season I believe, although I could be mistaken on that one and there could be a year left! I think Faubert has done really well this season and deserves another deal with us, even if it’s more short term. If Allardyce persuaded this two to sign on it’d be great news for the Hammers, and would show that the players believe in him as a manager. That, or they’ve been offered so much money they can’t refuse. Or nobody else wants them. One of the three!

  1. Stop players like James Tomkins leaving if we don’t go straight up – I know I know, I’ve got a rep for loving Tomkins blindly. However I do really think he’s one of our most valuable players – both in potential transfer fees and playing ability. I think we’d be forced to sell a few of the first team squad, and although that should give some of the youngsters a chance, it’ll also mean that we haven’t got the wealth of experience that should help us go up at the second time of asking. We need to try and hold on to as many players as we can and stop them moving on to other clubs, and hopefully Allardyce can influence that.

  1. Err…. get us promoted?! – Sounds obvious but I think it’s safe to say that every West Ham fan would warm to Sam considerably if he took us to the top tier of English football. Automatic promotion is a bit out of our hands at the moment but as long as he ensures that we win all of our remaining games, the fans won’t have many complaints to make if we go up through the play-offs. Come on you Irons!

I’d be back on his side if he just went lets go fit it 4 games left were in the play offs no matter what keys go all out and attack teams n batter them like we did Barnsley if we don’t get automatic so be it but people would have alot more respect for him for doing that all we wanna see Is free flowing attacking football at home it’s not hard to do now is it!!

Its a bit of a rocking horse of mine, but big sam bringing so called experieced players to do the job as been a waste of time. most have had injuries-and when played not done the job. it would have a better idea to try out some of our younger players 1st. if you look at some of teams round us and above-they are not stuffed with old farts, most are only here for the cash. boldock vaz ta & maynard look spot, and look like improving we need more like them next season..
