FIVE players that will get us promoted next season IF we miss out

|

With the Hammers far from being confirmed as promoted and staring at the possibility of entering the lottery that is the play offs, I have set up a shortlist of five possible signings should the Irons fail to receive promotion to the Promised Land.

The fastest growing Hammers website is now on Facebook, click the link to be entered into our up and coming competitions http://www.facebook.com/pages/ForeverWestHamcom/200938616608282

  1. Jason Pearce: The Pompey centre half clearly impressed Big Sam earlier on in the season as he was linked with a loan move in January but with the Hammers facing stiff competition the Irons plumped for Danny Collins instead. But I think should the Hammers fail to get promoted Pearce who is a never say die defender who wears his heart on his sleeve could fill the void that a possible departure of James Tomkins would leave. A commanding no nonsense centre half who puts a foot in when needed could link up well with Faye at centre half.

2. Danny Murphy: Although at 35 some people may say he is too old to be considered I think he would be a fantastic signing, and with Fulham showing an interest in the January window in Mark Noble the Hammers could do a deal with Fulham including a cash +player deal. Murphy has a fantastic shot on him as well as a great eye for a pass. Despite his age Murphy has kept himself in fantastic shape and is still very mobile on the ball. People who say ageing playing can’t cut it in the Championship only have to look at what Jason Roberts has done at Reading since joining in January.

  1. Wilfried Zaha: Ok so this may be my first unrealistic target but if the bosses at West Ham could lure him from under the noses of the Premier league Zaha could quickly become a fans favourite at the Boleyn. The striker has flair and pace in abundance and would certainly get the fans on their feet. A pacy and skilful front three of Zaha, Vaz Te and Maynard is sure to scare any defence in the league.

4. Craig Noone: The Brighton winger who was available in January for just a million pound could represent great business for the owners of West Ham, a year in the championship behind him, and with pace and a great left foot on him he could add vital goals from midfield which could help the Hammers cause.

Ever dreamt about getting paid for reading about West Ham? Well now you can make dreams a reality http://bit.ly/ffc-foreverwestham

5. And finally another maybe unrealistic signing Matt Jarvis: Should Wolves get relegated the Hammers should put an early bid in for Jarvis before the Premier league vultures circle. Jarvis has been then shining light in a poor Wolves side this season and would add quality to a lacklustre midfield. The Wolves number 17 takes a mean set piece and scores goals from midfield would help the Hammers out no end with a push for promotion.

Other possible signings: Matty Fryatt (Hull City), Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace) and Andy King (Leicester City)

So there’s mine, who would you like to see join if we fail to gain promotion.

We’d do better to keep hold of Noble and Tomkins than replace them with your “what ifs” numpty, another pointless post.
