RUMOUR MILL: Barnet hotshot on Big Sam’s radar

|

Barnet winger Mark Marshall is grabbing the eye of several Championship clubs including Leeds United and West Ham.

The young attacker produced several eye-catching performances in the early part of the season and although his performances have reportedly declined we are still amongst the teams looking at him.

Marshall has played for a number of clubs in the lower leagues which consist of Yeovil Town, Swindon Town and a loan spell at Hereford United. However he has never played above League One, something that may worry most Irons.

Since being linked with the likes of Jordan Rhodes and Billy Sharp, it comes as somewhat a surprise to me personally that we are linked with Marshall, who I had never heard of until today.

Although being somewhat unknown and unproven, I deem this approach as a step in the right direction. I for one am growing bored of us bringing in these older players like Carew for them only to either get injured or do nothing. Marshall might be a player that we haven’t heard of but he is young and he’s an attacker which is not only exciting but also pleasing. The squad is crying out for a creative attacker and Barnet’s number 20 is exactly that.

Since joining Barnet in 2010 Marshall has made 67 appearances in which he has scored 7 goals.

The summer transfer window saw Barnet turn down bids from both Charlton and Bournemouth for the young Jamaican but he is out of contract in the summer so he will either walk out in the summer or make a move in January.
