Pre Match Banter: West Ham vs. Blackpool

|

Our Editor caught up with lifelong Blackpool fan, Alex Armsrong, ahead of the Tangerines visit to Upton Park today.

You’ve made a solid start to the Championship campaign, is promotion back to the Premier League an achieveable target?

I think the playoffs are an achievable target and if we’re there at the end of the season then anything can happen on the day.
Us Hammers know all about the talents of Kevin Phillips and Gary Taylor-Fletcher, but are there a few unfamilar faces we should be wary of?

Alex John-Baptiste has come on a treat this season and after Jonjo Shelvey’s impressive debut it will be interesting to see how he copes with the star studded midfield that West Ham possess.

Where do you think West Ham will finish this season?

Everyone knows that on paper West Ham have the ability to beat anyone, but whether or not they can do it this seasons remains to be seen. Anywhere outside the automatic promotion spots will be seen as an unsuccessful season.

As an outsider, what’s your thoughts on the whole Olympic Stadium saga?

I think that after agreeing a deal with West Ham, you are extremely unlucky if the whole thing falls through completely. However there is a lot of history at Upton Park and it would be a shame for you guys to move out.

Finally (and most importantly), what do you reckon the score will be? I’m going for an entertaining 2-2.

I reckon it could be a high scoring game with both teams prone to conceding late goals. I’m going for a 3-2 Blackpool win.

I agree that anything other than automatic promotion will be disappointing, as for the Olympic Stadium, l’m happy as Larry it’s all fallen through, I want them to build their own stadium and let Leyton Orient put 5000 fans into a 60,000 seat arena?? As for your prediction Alex….dream on son, your defending was dyer and your front men non existent, as the song goes “you couldn’t score in a brothel” 4 – 0…happy days…………….COYI ‘><'
