Manchester United’s 21-year-old left back Luke Shaw could move on loan to the London Stadium, according to ESPN.
Former Hammer Shaka Hislop urged the Southampton academy graduate to join Premier League rivals West Ham on loan.
The England international has struggled to get regular game time under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, and the Portuguese boss has even claimed that Shaw is their fourth-choice left-back.
And former West Ham shotstopper Hislop believes it’s time for Slaven Bilic to agree a deal for the young Red Devil to leave the Red Devils, claiming a loan move to the Hammers would be ideal. Hislop told ESPN:
“If I’m Luke Shaw or his agent, I’m thinking: “It’s time to move on’. I don’t see him fitting into Jose Mourinho’s plans and maybe it’s time to seek pastures new.
“From a Manchester United perspective, Luke Shaw is a highly-regarded player who they spent a lot of money on. He’s back from his horrific injury and he’s still only 21 years old.
“If I’m Man United I don’t want to give this player up yet, I don’t want to give up on him. Maybe the option for them if he doesn’t fit into Mourinho’s immediate plans is to send him out on loan.
“Maybe to a club like West Ham who have a history of bringing players through. But if I’m Luke Shaw’s agent and I can get a big-money move away, I would seriously consider that.”
