Gooners across the land have made the loudest noise they’ve made all season after Olivier Giroud lost out to Andy Carroll in January’s goal of the month competition.
Fans of the profit-making north London company were convinced that the Frenchman’s scorpion kick against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day would scoop the goal of the month award with ease.
Gooners are used to getting their own way in online polls and competitions, so it was truly a beautiful sight to watch them react to news that Andy Carroll had won instead.
The big Geordie’s overhead kick, also against Palace, was voted as January’s best goal by fans on the Carling website.
Cue cries of “campaign against Arsenal” from fans of a club whose manager received a derisory 4-game touchline ban for putting his hands on a match official.
No word yet on how this will affect Arsenal’s net spend. Ready for a laugh?
If Giroud scored the bicycle kick and Carroll scored the scorpion kick we know who’d win. Agenda against Arsenal.

@carling @premierleague are you actually taking the piss? Giroud scores the most breathtaking goal I’ve ever seen and doesn’t win?

How on earth is Andy Carroll’s bicycle kick goal that we see every season better than Giroud’s scorpion kick. #Baffled
