With Dimitri Payet now but a memory for West Ham a creative void has been left in the Hammers midfield.

The arrival of Robert Snodgrass will undoubtedly go some way towards filling the gap, with the Scotsman having created the 3rd most chances of any Premier League player in 2017.

But the fact remains that Dimitri Payet was among the most creative players in European football. Even in his second season with the Hammers – which many have branded a disappointment – the French attacking midfielder created more chances than the rest of the squad combined.

Manuel Lanzini has been tipped by many to replace Dimitri Payet’s influence in West Ham’s attack but the diminutive number #10 found himself on the bench for the win against Southampton.

Hammers fans will have to wait until the summer to see any new faces in claret and blue but the club will undoubtedly be looking to bolster its attacking options come July 1st.
