Galatasaray are considering whether to replace their manager Jan Olde Riekerink with either West Ham boss Slaven Bilic or Istanbul Basaksehir’s Abdullah Avci, according to Sporx.com.

The Turkish giants are currently five points off the top of the Super Lig table, and Riekerink’s job is said to be on the line if he doesn’t recover the gap, and regain top spot in the league very soon.

Abdullah Avci is actually in charge of the surprise league leaders in Turkey, Basaksehir. His side has a two point lead over second place Besiktas, Bilic’s former team.

The Hammers manager is well known in Turkey after his spell managing in Istanbul, and Galatasaray are believed to be particularly keen on the Croatian due to his precarious situation with his current club, and the fact that he is ambitious and wants to work with a young group of players.

Much will depend on whether Bilic can turn West Ham’s form around, and if Riekerink improves Galatasaray’s position in the league.
