Back-to-back wins for West Ham for the first time since April were confirmed at the weekend as the Hammers beat Sunderland at the London Stadium.

It was the second 1-0 victory after beating Crystal Palace by that scoreline last weekend as Winston Reid struck the winner in the last minute of injury time.

It was no less than the Hammers deserved as they’d been on the front foot for most of the game with their relegation threatened opposition looking to sit in and frustrate both the players and the home crowd. It looked as though they’d succeeded, too, until Reid hit home and sent everyone in claret and blue into raptures.

Things are looking up, then, for West Ham now and so here are three things that we can take from their performance…
