David Gold has suggested via his official, personal Twitter account that Ghanaian international Andre Ayew may face Chelsea this evening in the EFL Cup, returning from his injury in doing so.

Ayew was a summer signing from Swansea and made his Premier League debut for the Hammers against the Blues, in fact, on the opening day of the season. He suffered a quadriceps injury during that match though and had to come off as the east London club lost 2-1, he now seems ready to at least make the squad though.

When asked on Twitter by West Ham fans whether the forward would feature in the fourth round of the newly-named competition tonight, Gold replied with these tweets below:

Ayew resumed full training last week and will be competing with the likes of Simone Zaza up front whilst Andy Carroll is still himself recovering from an injury.

The Hammers could face the likes of Liverpool or Arsenal if they get through tonight.
