According to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, midfielder Edimilson Fernandes is heading to West Ham for a medical.
The 20-year-old is the cousin of former Manchester City midfielder Gelson Fernandes, who spent two seasons with the Premier League side.
Edimilson currently plies his trade with FC Sion in the Swiss Super League – the same club the Citizens bought Gelson from back in 2007.
He measures in at a whopping 6 foot 3 and has already made 48 league appearances for the Stade Tourbillon outfit, including five outings this season.
According to The Guardian’s Ed Aarons, a very reliable source, Fernandes is now heading to east London to undergo a medical with West Ham. The transfer deal with Sion will be worth around £5.2million should it go ahead.

Here’s a look at Fernandes in action:
The youngster’s impending arrival suggests a West Ham midfielder may be about to leave the club. Earlier this week, TuttoSport reported that AC Milan were considering Pedro Obiang as an alternative target to PSG midfielder Benjamin Stambouli.
