Young winger Martin Samuelsen has completed a season-long loan move from West Ham to Blackburn, according to the Hammers’ official website.

The 19-year-old secured his long-term future in the east end of London by penning a four-year contract with the Irons earlier this week, and will now link up with fellow claret and blue ace Stephen Hendrie at Ewood Park.

It’s expected that Samuelsen will gain more game time in the Championship, with Slaven Bilic’s first-team squad full of talented attacking midfielders able to play from wide roles, such as Dimitri Payet, Michail Antonio, Manuel Lanzini, Gokhan Tore and others.

The teenager only joined West Ham in June 2015 and made his debut for the senior XI against Maltese outfit Birkirkara within a month in the Europa League qualifiers.

He then spent the start of the 2015/16 campaign in West Ham’s youth ranks before joining Peterborough United on loan.
