West Ham United are poised to sign Simone Zaza from Juventus for a fee of £24 million, with The Guardian claiming that the Italy international could complete his switch today.

The Hammers have been in the market for new attacking players all summer long but have found the going tough due to a lack of Champions League football.

Andre Ayew and Jonathan Calleri have both been added to Slaven Bilic’s squad, but the desire to have an international quality number nine remains.

Zaza has fallen out of favour at Juventus and with the Italian champions signing Gonzalo Higuain earlier this summer, he faces the prospect of limited action in Turin this season.

The latest report suggests that West Ham have moved quickly to secure the former Sassuolo centre forward’s signature and the player will fly to London for a medical today.

With Andy Carroll currently injured, Zaza should be propelled straight into the starting XI once a deal is signed off.
